CD Design Idea (Front Cover)

This is the first draft of my CD cover, this was to see if the idea of having both illustrative and real life photographs together in one image would look good for the product. I think it has gone well as it is both well thought out in the technical aspect as it is a process that it easy to do and the fact that it reflects the ideology of the album name and the music video itself. Confusing the audience by having the potential to have multiple realities. This is a ideology that refers to post-modernism in the sense that it uses multiple realities to refer to the text (the music video).
The fact that this is a draft shows through as the location that is used for the main image isn't the main location within the music video. Also the type face that is used is supposed to reflect that of the one used for the Bastille album covers, this is something that I am unsure whether or not has worked with the cover. I shall be going through with this idea as I think it is inventive and works well with the music video I am producing.

From gathering the appropriate fonts from Dafont.com, I have then  put these into Photoshop to edit them. This draft was done as to see whether or not I was capable of producing what I intended. And through these images, this was the outcome that I was left with.

The image that I gathered for the draft was taken and made smaller to the appropriate size of a CD, I had to make sure that it was a perfect square in order to make sure that I achieved the correct framing.

After editing the images I put them into the same document in order to correctly edit both of the images. Due to the Font being difficult to edit and getting rid of the white background was impossible without making it look unprofessional I decided to leave it and shall go back to deciding on a different font for the final cover.

When looking at the image that I had for this mock up front cover, I decided that the name should follow the contours of the ceiling. Todothis I went to edit the text and then transforming it to then distorting the text. This allowed me to change the dimensions of the text and create the illusion of it being on the ceiling. The size was then changed the size of the text as to fit the framing of the ceiling.

Next I would have to alter the other text that would feature on the front cover as the name of the album. Just like the first text, I had to delete the white background to ensure that it didn't show on the cover. For this specific text was an easy task as it allowed me to do so without any complications since it was such a simple text. This shall be a text that is considered for my final draft. It was cropped, then the background was selected with the wand tool and the background was then deleted.
